About Us

Southern Aroma Coffee Roasters began five years ago in Georgia as a micro-roaster supplying local coffee shops and restaurants.  As requests grew for our coffees, so did the need for more production.  In 2008, the company relocated operations to Mississippi.  We are a full-service roaster and offer an outstanding collection of wonderful coffees and blends accentuated by technical expertise.  Our services includes equipment packages, volume pricing options, and coffee consulting and training.      

The founders of Southern Aroma Coffee Roasters are Timothy and Katara James who are natives of Georgia and Mississippi.  The couple has a young son and represents a fourth generation of African heritage in coffee roasting. 

Our vision is to produce quality roasted coffees with integrity in our business practices and to promote positive and sustainable relationships with our customers, partners, and community.

Starting with the finest Arabica beans sourced from the world’s top coffee growing regions, we create gourmet masterpieces.  We blend our artisan production style with innovative roasting technology to produce exceptional coffees.  We pay strict attention to quality assurance and rigorously sample every roast of our coffees for the perfect cup.  We use only the best cultivated and harvested coffees and our product offering include 100% organic, Direct Trade,  Rainforest Alliance, and Fair Trade certified coffees.
